Volunteers are a vital part of the coalition's daily rhythm, helping move thousands of pounds of food each week to shelters, community centres, school programs, and outreach organizations across London.

We welcome volunteers of all backgrounds and abilities. Whether you can lend a hand weekly or occasionally, your time is deeply valued. Together, we’re building a city where food is shared, not wasted—and where every contribution helps turn abundance into opportunity.

​Please note: all volunteers with the London Food Coalition must have an annual Vulnerable Sector Police Check on file. New volunteers without a police check are asked to provide a receipt for payment to show that the process has been initiated (most VSCs are provided within 2 weeks) before they may begin volunteering. Volunteer Roles
Coalition Assistant
As a Coalition Assistant, you'll play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our food rescue and distribution efforts. You'll assist with sorting rescued food, performing quality control, and helping our member agencies when they arrive to pick up their food donations. You'll be a part of a dedicated team working to create food prosperity across London.
