The London Food Coalition is a city-wide network of community organizations, businesses, and volunteers working together to create a more abundant, sustainable, and dignified local food system. Formed in response to rising challenges in food access and resource distribution, the coalition brings people and organizations together to share food abundance and ensure that fresh, nourishing food reaches the programs and communities that need it most.

What began as a small group of organizations has grown into a collective effort to strengthen local food systems, reduce environmental impact, and support community well-being through collaboration and care. By collecting surplus food from farms, retailers, and suppliers, and redistributing it to frontline organizations across London, the coalition plays a vital role in turning surplus into solutions—and food into connection.

As a registered Canadian charity (Charity Reg. #772044673RR0001), the London Food Coalition is dedicated to advancing food prosperity in all corners of the city. The fresh food it redistributes supports a wide range of local programs—from family cooking initiatives and nutrition education, to summer camps, community meals, and school-based supports for children and families. In addition to improving access to good food, the coalition also helps member organizations reduce costs, increase impact, and focus their resources where they matter most.

ACKNOWLEDGEMENT: At the London Food Coalition, we begin by grounding ourselves in this place—Deshkan Ziibiing, the land along the Antler River, known today as London. We live and work upon the ancestral territories of the Anishinaabek, Haudenosaunee, Lunaapéewak, and Chonnonton Peoples, held up in the Dish With One Spoon Wampum Covenant, a treaty that reminds us that we share one bowl, one spoon, and the responsibility to care for all who rely on this place for nourishment. We are also bound by Treaty 6 (the London Township Treaty), which calls us into right relationship with the original peoples and with the land itself.
