Expanding Our Impact

Annual Report 2024-25

Fruit and Vegetables

In 2024-25, the London Food Coalition continues to lead with purpose, collaboration, and care. Over the past year, we’ve welcomed new members, improved operations at our Food Hub, and shared over 375,000 pounds of nourishing food across the city. Together, we are reimagining nourishment—strengthening community programs, reducing food waste, and supporting a healthier, more sustainable London.

Expanding Our Table
Over the past year, the London Food Coalition welcomed six new members—London Cares, ANOVA, Nshwaasnangong Child Care and Family Centre, Fixing Her Crown (with LIHC), PFLAG (with YOU), and Joan’s Place. These partnerships bring new voices, cultural insights, and frontline experience into the Coalition, allowing us to reach more people with food that nourishes both body and spirit. With more than 25 active members, we’re working together to make food access more inclusive, local, and connected.

Nourishment with Dignity
We redesigned our Food Hub to reflect what our members and volunteers value most: dignity, choice, and ease. With a more intuitive grocery-style setup, better flow, and improved visibility, we’ve made each visit more efficient, respectful, and collaborative. Members now have the space and support to plan ahead, select what’s most useful, and connect with one another in meaningful ways.

Volunteers in Action
The role of our volunteers has expanded beyond sorting and quality checks to include food preparation, peer mentoring, and daily operations support. Thanks to the introduction of volunteer captains, onboarding is stronger, and team leadership has grown. Volunteers also assist with unloading large deliveries, organizing the Hub, and preparing ingredients—making it easier for our members to get good food into meals quickly and with less waste.

Strength Through Collaboration
In 2024, we shared more than 375,000 pounds of nourishing food across London. This was only possible because of the collective effort of our member agencies, sponsors, donors, and volunteers. As we continue to grow, so does the need for collaborative grant writing and coordinated fundraising. By working together, we can sustain our operations, improve our infrastructure, and create new opportunities for shared success.

Reimagining Nourishment
This year, we finalized a new mission, vision, and shared language that reflects the heart of our work. We’re shifting away from deficit-based language and toward a strengths-based, joyful, and relational approach. We talk about food prosperity instead of hunger, and nourishing relationships alongside nourishing food. This shared lexicon helps us speak with clarity, pride, and purpose as we continue building a food system rooted in care, abundance, and equity.
