About the London Food Coalition
The London Food Coalition is a community united against hunger. We were founded to solve two growing problems: food insecurity and food waste. Our mission is simple—rescue surplus food and get it to those who need it most. What started as a small group of organizations has grown into a city-wide initiative uniting businesses, volunteers, and nonprofits. We aim to expand our impact by building stronger partnerships and mobilizing our community to end hunger.

The London Food Coalition Inc. is dedicated to creating food prosperity initiatives that assert fresh food as a fundamental right. Fresh food is integral to many different community programs in the city. This initiative provides essential resources for family cooking programs, nutritional and educational programming, camp programs, and healthy meals for children and families. Furthermore, this coalition reduces the costs of food for London organizations.

Effective July 2021, the London Food Coalition became an incorporated, registered Canadian charity (charity reg. #772044673RR0001). With this, our goals or purposes have changed:

Our goals are:
-
To improve the efficiency of other registered charities and public schools by redistributing fresh, rescued food at below market rates to registered charities and public schools for their programs;
-
To carry out activities ancillary and incidental to the above charitable purpose.
