Food rescue initiatives, like those led by the London Food Coalition, are critical to addressing environmental challenges. These programs divert surplus food from landfills, significantly reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Methane, a potent contributor to climate change, is produced when food waste decomposes in landfills. By rescuing and redistributing surplus food, we play a vital role in mitigating environmental harm while supporting community well-being.
